Jupiter is the closest to the Earth that it has been since 1963. If you have a pair of binoculars, you can see four [according to Shannon, numerals under 10 (ten) should be spelled out] of its moons.
Nice Photo! However I take issue with your claim that a photo is 2 dimensional. The pixels in my monitor actually have depth. And their light emission has a measurable distance. I'm no math person, so can you come up with a formula for that? :)
